Description

  • Perennial
  • Mint Julep grows up to 30 to 45 in height and with a spread of up to 91cm.
  • It blooms in summer and attracts bees and butterflies.
  • Mint Julep grows quite vigorous and is best to plant it in a pot to restrict its growth.
  • It needs full sun and must be watered regularly with a good drainage system.

Culinary Uses

  • Mint ‘Julep’ is named after a famous beverage that is made with Kentucky bourbon.
  • The leaves have a sweeter flavor than other varieties and is one of the best for adding flavor to teas, fruit drinks, cocktails and desserts.

  • Tea - use as an eye wash to remove dust and grit.
  • Chew a sprig to sweeten your breath.
