- Wendy's Wish Sage is a new hybrid Salvia from Australia.
- It is a clump-forming perennial that can grow up to 60cm tall and has dense green foliage with dark maroon stems.
- Wendy's Wish has a long blooming season and bears showy spikes of large, loose clusters of citrus scented magenta-pink flowers, emerging from papery, dusty pink bracts in summer, that attracts bees and butterflies.
- It is hardy to -5 degrees and prefers full sun or partial shade in well-drained soil.
- Wendy's Wish is drought tolerant once established, but water regularly when first planted.
- Follow a regular watering schedule during the first growing season to establish a deep, extensive root system.
- Deadhead (remove spent flowers) to encourage more blooms.
- Cut back by one-third and apply a slow release fertilizer in very early spring.
- It is good for borders, beds, or containers, but prefers good drainage, so plant on a hillside if you have clay soil.
